What is Web 2.0 Surgery?

Web 2.0 Surgery is a free drop-in event where independent businesses, freelance professionals and community groups can get advice from web experts on developing their website or ways to use free social media networks to grow their organisation. The project has helped a start-up business to sell online, a charity to use social networks for free promotion and a performance group to use live web video streaming to engage with audiences.

Second Wednesday web meet-up

After Web 2.0 Surgery, stay around for Second Wednesday, the monthly gathering of Nottingham’s web development community where you can find out more about web development and marketing and meet professionals.

August 11th – Copywriting talk, 7pm, Broadway Cinema

August’s talk is by Camilla Zajac from Green Light Copywriting.  Based on her experience of creating unique content for blogs, websites and other communications, Camilla will share five things you can do to turn copy from information into inspiration.

As Director of Green Light Copywriting, Camilla Zajac has created content for organisations as varied as E.ON, Barnardo’s and the NHS – and written for growing businesses on everything from luxury cakes to law!

Copywriting isn’t just about spelling and grammar. It isn’t purely about branding. Or communications. Or marketing. It’s about all these aspects and more.

Done right, copywriting can help companies sell themselves more powerfully, build their brand and stand out in a crowded marketplace.
